My Story

When I was 19 years old, my mother was in her 40s and suffered a severe heart attack.  She was lucky enough to survive.  Doctors told her that she was seconds from dying on a few occasions.  After a quadruple bypass surgery, she realized that she needed to make changes in her life.  She didn't even know where to begin.  Her doctor warned her that her sedentary ways, combined with her poor diet and smoking, were the reason behind her heart attack.

This was a wake up call.  Not only to her, but to me as well.

Long story short, I eventually enrolled in classes at both Clemson and Greenville Tech that would assist me in learning about proper diet.  Nutrition 101 and Exercise Physiology, just to name a few.  After getting myself back into shape after being over-weight, I decided to pursue a career in the fitness field.

I enrolled myself into Greenville Tech's personal trainer curriculum.  After finishing there, I received my first national certification and began to work for a corporate gym.  I realized quickly that the corporate atmosphere of a huge profit-driven facility wasn't for me.  I then started working for a small 1-on-1 personal training studio.  The atmosphere was very nice and I was doing what I loved!  Even then, I still wasn't satisfied.  Several of my clients had to drop my services because the prices were out of their range.  I understood completely, but I wasn't able to help them, as I was under contract and had to charge what the personal training studio told me to charge. 

Then one day, it hit me!  I was in the middle of a session with one of my favorite clients (who is still with me today!) and he said "I wish you could come to my house".  It didn't hit me then, but after some pondering I came to the conclusion that I could solve issues.  First, I could become my own boss!  Secondly, I could make it convenient for my clients by coming to them instead of them coming to me!  And finally-- and most importantly, I was able to offer my clients affordable rates!

Fitness Philosophy

A passion of mine is to show my clients that Fitness and exercise can
be fun. Physical activity can also help clear your mind and your
ability to tackle everyday challenges. Fitness activity is having the
ability to better one's lifestyle through working out and making
healthy choices in order to achieve that state of health and well
being. A person should be willing to start a workout and keep up with
it on a regular basis in order to achieve his or her goals. It is my
job to not only train them but to also keep them motivated and not let
them give up on themselves so that they can achieve their goals.

Specialty

Since high school I have been involved in gymnastics along with
several marathons. Today I still train like an athlete mostly doing
marathons, body sculpting, kickboxing and boot camp. I have passion
for fitness, helping people, and having fun in the process. I design
exercise programs specifically for each individual within my personal
training sessions and group fitness classes to target muscle groups
and train the body. As a result, my clients will receive improved
physical health that leads to mental and emotional well-being. I
believe my clients will feel empowered by achieving their fitness
goals.
